Shining Through

Dark corner
Closed eyes
Scared to open and see what you'll find
Never ending days
Walking through a daze
Keep getting kicked back down
Surprised when you hear a sound
After so long
Could it be?
You open your eyes to see
A light shining through
Is it true?
All this time
So much has passed you by
Hope surges
Encourages
You feel your strength return
Nothing else holds your concern
Grasping for the light
The most beautiful sight
That light shining through
It's coming to you.

Timothy Hicks June 15, 2013 at 1:07 AM I can relate to that. When I first started writing and then showing my friends them, one of the complaints was that they were too depressing. First I just brushed it off and then realized they were right... now my goal is to just write whatever comes to mind, and do it in the best way I can. Caleah Buil June 18, 2013 at 4:04 PM HA!
