Shining Through

I miss the light that shone on me, ardent hope that radiated through childhood's harsh adversity to keep my heart illuminated. Her orbit touched me in such ways through restless times of youth's despair, on rainy, black and stagnant days she always took the time to care. I never felt adrift, alone whenever she would cast a look; I stole support and unbeknown to her, I seldom gave, just took. Worthwhile things I sometimes did, the bad may well outweigh the good; but through the storms I fell amid at my side she always stood. Now recently the light has gone from sight, but memory doesn't die, my thanks I must bestow upon my sibling friend of years gone by. I miss her light that shone on me, with silver flame of stars and moon, the sun has dimmed just recently, I miss you all too soon.
