Shining Pieces

An icicle smashed on the ground
Pieces scattered everywhere
I stopped in cold air, just to stare
At the pattern that I had found

A picture of my broken heart,
From years ago came back to me
Falling, just so that I could see
The pieces still shined while apart

Heidi, Icicle wonders, like short-lived stalactites in the caves of memory. Takes me back. 'Pieces scattered everywhere I stopped in cold air, just to stare At the pattern that I had found' They shined so well in your poem. -Richard

Hi Heidi, I agree, with Connie. You've penned a good metaphor on a broken heart. The heart heals in it's own time. Great job:-)Alexis
