Sheltered

Numbness comes and goes Immunity to life, perhaps Although beauty glows Failure proudly claps Tragic stories fill my ears Things I cannot fathom So I choose not to hear My fuzzy muffs, I grab 'em Sheltered by a cardboard box Built sturdy by my lies Preparing for when reality knocks To save my virgin eyes It shields the wind of a broken heart A no trespassing sign in front There shall be no end, if I never start This is my grandest stunt

Your words are simplicity themselves, but in context they speak volumes on the mind frame, hopes, admissions and views of the author. The words fall from the page and collect gently within our hearts. This is an inspirational poem, described with feeling written by the heart and energized by the soul. Emile. #7
