Shell

Alone, tired, and empty
she backs into her shell
This is her home and safety
a place she knows so well
Outside the sky is darkened
as she awaits the tears
Soon the dam will break
being one of many fears
Once the walls come down
there is nowhere to go
Just sinking to the bottom
as the rushing waters flow
One day in the future
her fears will be no more
The under water current
will drift her back to shore

I see this as a poem of hope as yes she does get pulled by the current as well do, but yet mabnages to get back to shore again as we so often do. Great imagery and a terrific flow to this read. Michael
