Shell

I close my eyes
I see right through despair
I close my mouth
I pray it never dares
The day I chose my path is the day I left you there
The second I looked back is when I stopped to stare
My focus on this world evolved from you
My lying and denial barely got me through

Here it comes
Time to kill disease
Here it is
The plague is planting seeds
If I try to smile the pain will come for me
But living in denial will never help me breathe
I’ll never feel again and I’m on my knees
I’m looking for what’s lost but I still can’t see
The circle of my lies never seems to end
Everywhere I look I still see the dead
But looking at my heart, who am I to judge?
This parasite is dying and it holds a grudge

I thank you now
Morning comes for me
I hold you now
I live in memories
