She Will Sleep For Food
She Will Sleep for Food
By Elton Camp
To make her own living she knows how to do,
If others else will supply it, she prefers not to
She may unexpectedly show up at your door
Even though you have never seen her before
If you should dare to open it a narrow crack,
She’ll force her way in and won’t come back
Up against you she will coyly start to scrub
And invite you, her smooth, silky hair to rub
There is no need to say, “I’ve no need for you.”
Because words like that she knows to be untrue
So you might just as well go ahead and admit
That you already are attracted to her quite a bit
Right into your lap she will proceed to jump
And you go along with it like some old chump
That you’re much older and ugly she doesn’t see
You’ve got what she wants and she gets it free
And in all honesty, you simply must confess,
That she looks very nice not wearing a dress
Attention that you show, she returns in kind
Her purring into your ear makes you feel fine
Now, don’t expect that she’ll do any work at all
For it is you who must be at her beck and call
Even to clean up her own messes is now your job
So be prepared since you’ll have the floor to swab
It isn’t very likely that you’ll ever regret the day
You took the cat into your house and let her stay
Even your own spouse agrees it would be too rude
To turn away one who is willing to sleep for food
