She Waves, Goodbye

She Waves, Goodbye

Of all the waves crashing on the shore
Of all the songs on the radio
There’s still the one washing over me
That takes me back in the undertow

The April sun, North Myrtle Beach
My feet are sinking in the sand
Retreating waters under foot
The tide is high; she took my hand

I turned to see, this cresting wave
I took a leap and dived toward shore
She took me in and cradled me
I held my breath, as time was short

I kept myself stream-lined strong
The water rushed across my skin
We bodysurfed all afternoon
But shallow waters, I tumbled in

And then, we had to say goodbye

Of all the waves crashing on the shore
Of all the songs on the radio
There’s still the one rushing over me
That takes me back in the undertow

The April sun, Rehoboth Beach
My heart is sinking in the sand
She’s still the one rushing over me
And there she is, with another man

Wow this is a very good one. It is suspenseful, with emotion and the reader can see it and feel it. Well done ! :)
