She Slept

There she slept under the stars
By the trunk of the trees
She was not afraid
For they were with her

She did not see them
It did not matter
She slept bare
Without a care

Such a lovely message in this simple yet complexed write. She was secure in her life. Wow! What you do with your poem, I salute you! Beautiful!

I came back to tell you that I have not heard anything else about Don. I wish I could remember the person who drew my attention to it in the first place, so you could talk to them.

Beautifully done. It seems that 'she' was protected by the stars above shining down on her, and could sleep peacefully:) Amitiés

oh, the stars? And she did not see them for she was sleeping by then. I hope I got that right. It's clever to think of it that way.

I really like this. Trying to imagine what they are that she did not see. Maybe spirits?

Beautiful little verse Debbie, gone are the days when I slept under the stars, we used to do it a lot when we were growing up as we lived in the country and there was no one around and we never had a care in the world, thank you so much for sharing this Debbie and take care.......Vera

I have them watching out for me too. I should have died several times over, but I am still here!
