She Protests Too Much

With irascible words, she continues to bemoan Writing about poets with whom she picks a bone Chastising those who like to compete in contests She's infected with hate, like a pustulant abscess Her bitter sarcasm abounds for quite a few poets Shaming their competitiveness, then she blows it She adds POTD beside her poem title when chosen but her attitude is not what I would call ambrosian Her "truth" is not what all of us choose to believe It's so sad that she tries to offend us and aggrieve She doth protest too much, and it's unbecoming She's muddying the site with so much chumming Many of us write what lies deep within our hearts But we're not what she calls arrogant or up-starts. We don't need our wrists slapped, like she has said Leeches try to draw blood. We don't need to be bled.

Don't fling knives without expecting one back, saying it all without saying a name, hope she knows you are onto her game, though I doubt her ego will curl in shame, I love a good dig, and all done in good poetic taste too, love it . . . ; )

I don't know who you're talking about, but hope she gets your message... I write what I feel, care about and need to express - I write because I LOVE to write - I sincerely believe it's what God wants me to do too ... I believe that is true about most writers. Love to you and God bless you too

How boring life would be if everyone agreed with everyone else, But everyone has different opinions and the bottom line is we should respect that, Tom

You are spot on about people being respectful of each other's differences of opinion. Trouble rears its ugly head when stubborn ones are closed minded to the fact that they might be wrong. "There's no fixin' stupid!"

Jenna - You've hit the nail on the head, and everything you said needs to be said. The site is so much less than it should be because of this woman's constant harassing. I try to be sympathetic to people who have problems, but this woman, who calls herself a "poetess," is just mean, belligerent, bigoted, and bullying. Frankly, I think Administration should tell her she is no longer welcome here. It would be a much better environment without her!

Thank you, Milt, but I fear this nail is so hard headed that my point will not be driven in the context in which it was written. We've both been the bullseye of darts thrown by this bigoted person. This site doesn't deserve to be blighted by one the one who's blinded by her contentious attitude.

I've not been around much due to health reasons but have seen some nasty comments have been aimed at those who write light hearted poems ie humour I'm sad that folk bully and belittle others for their beliefs. It is our choice if we write for contests - i use them as prompts to write. I write for fun and try and make folk smile and even write the occasional serious poem and don't give a toss what folk think!" hugs Jan xx

I'm very sorry you've been ill, Jan, but hope you're recovering now. I believe everyone has the right to express their opinion as long as it doesn't demean the opinion of anyone else. It's also quite hypocritical to condemn the actions of Biden and praise the things Trump did, as this person is hell bent on doing. To call Biden a liar and ignore the plethora of lies Trump told is incomprehensible to me. I tried, but no longer could I prevent my fingers from taking this person to task. She must have removed the POTD. So many poems do not deserve the honor, but this administration thinks only on popularity.

Whether she removed them or not, the fact remains she was vain enough to post potd after them, yet accuses others of wanting glory. POTDs are not always chosen by popularity. There are some that are chosen who've not received even one comment.
