She Loved Cardinals

As I walked through the corridor of my mansion To the far side in which my parents room was before they had passed, I felt like I was being drawn into that area for some odd reason My parents room has been left alone and still set up the same way it was before momma passed I rarely enter the room because I cry every time I do The only reason I entered this time was because the door was ajar When I approached the door to push it open, before I could... A breeze came through from the bedroom window and swung it open I don't know why or even how the window was opened, it's been shut for years I took two steps into the room when suddenly... A cardinal flew onto the window sill Chills ran through my veins and down my spine My mother, momma...she loved cardinals Again...I cried

The essence of a beloved Mother never dies and her inspiration lives on within and around us, reminding us with loving gestures of her everlasting devotion.. Charlie, your beautiful poem truly moves me. My beloved Mom shows me she's still with me too. You write with exquisite emotion that reaches deeply into my heart. Warmest wishes always, my charming friend.. ~Susan

I love this, Charles. It really reminds me of my mother who loved cardinals too. All of her Christmas cards always had a cardinal in the snow on them and out of the blue recently my little grandson painted a picture with a cardinal in the snow on it. Weird...
