She Knows Not

She knows not-
My dearest child,
Who plays and dreams, and smiles,
Her safest heaven in my arms,
From world of chaos and violence.

What trials and journeys her await,
What fate His hand has written,
I pray as gentle as my kiss, or else I would forbid it.
As sweet as shadows of those lips and blues her dove's eyes wearing,
I paint the passage of her life, on softest sails carried.
