She Is More Than a Reflection
They see me on the surface
just as long as they don't look long
and never into my eyes
or hear this voice, now insanity's song
they won't see the monster there
who is standing in my place
with her bitter tasting smile;
for she wears my face.
At night inside the mirror
I know that she'll be waiting there
for me to offer her my spot
cool glass against this skin now bear,
and feel her tugging slightly
just in time to slip behind her smile
she is more than my reflection
and more than a sickness so vile.
She knows she is alive
yet I question her humanity
she turns back around smiling,
and questions my sanity.
