She Is As Loony As They Come
She is loony as they come, said the neighbors down the road.
The wife looked like a troll, her husband was squat like a toad.
I knew better, there is nothing crazy about sleeping outside.
In a few seconds, it would finally be the end of my long ride.
She came out to greet me wearing an apron and a smile.
I was getting worried, she said, I know it was many a mile.
I would have driven twice as far, I told my heroine, old Nan.
She was one of my favorite people, married to my cousin Dan.
I eat and sleep outside these days, she told me with a sigh.
The rest of the valley does not understand, as they come driving by.
But, she said, with a happy smile and a tiny wink.
Living out here has really helped to make them try and think!
