She Holds Her Daddys Hand
He comes in the door very tired from a long hard days work,
Throws off his vest and kicks off his shoe-
He falls down onto the bed.
Moms in the kitchen planning up tonites dinner.
She comes yelling out of her room and runs and jumps on her daddy!
She cuddles up to him and they laugh and play.
"Take me for a walk daddy-- I want to go outside and play".
Even though he's dead tired, he musters up some strength
To take his little girl outside.
To see the smile on her face as she rides her bike back and forth,
Into the driveway for a little while --
Than plays jumprope and a little hopscotch.
Oh how he just loves to see her smile!!
The ice-cream man passes by and she yells,
"Daddy, can I get one please??"
Daddy reaches for his wallet,
And shes already picked out the one she wants!
Together they sit on the porch
With their ice-creams dripping down their hands.
They sing silly songs and kick their feet as she gets tired--
OOHH!! AT LAST!!!
Ok, now its time for us to go inside!
With dinner ready and it smells so great!
She reaches over to hug her dad- smiling,
As she holds her daddy's hand.
