She Had the Cleft of Kirk Douglas

She had the cleft of Kirk Douglas. It was decidedly brilliant on her. It fit her mind and her attitude. I watched it talk along with her mouth. Where had she gotten such a cleft? It is rare to see these days. It was more fashionable in the forties. I wondered about it for days. I never saw her again. But one time was more than enough. When my own child was born with a cleft I knew she was brilliant and special.

I don't know what a cleft means, but it can be most attractive. And, as you said, they don't appear so much any more. I wonder why?

It is that dented chin like Kirk Douglas and Dudley Do-Right in the Underdog cartoon show both had.
