SHE DIDN’T KNOW
Mum cooked me a hearty breakfast, with bacon fried in lard. She said I ought to grease my chest, For winter mornings could be hard. Cute one. I don't think it is the cholesterol at all but how one's body reacts to it. My father loved side meat and biscuits(made with lard). He ate that every morning and for lunch every day most of his life and he lived to be 97 minus 2 weeks. Mother did the same. If one works and doesn't stress out it makes all the difference. My grandparents died long before 1978 - in their 90s, so eating an unprocessed food breakfast did not do them any harm at all, but enjoyed your poem. Good luck!
