She Could Not Save Him

Determined to save him she emptied her bank account. It saved him for six weeks and two days. Then he ran out on her. She was pregnant of course. He came back after the baby was born. He needed her to get a second mortgage on her house. He was in big trouble; his creditors were threatening bodily harm. She wondered why he did not use a bank. Not realizing he had no credit or legitimate job. He picked up the baby and acted glad, So she got the second mortgage. He stayed around until the baby started to walk. By then he had another problem. She wanted to save him, but she had to ask her parents. Initially they said ‘no’. Because they wanted to see the baby, they finally agreed. She saved him from a beating for a second time. She and her parents both lost their houses, but he is gone now. Found dead in an alley. Sadly she could not save him from perpetually living on the edge.
