SHE

SHE

She
Sitting on the beach
Her knees
Tucked in her hands
The tide
Cold, rolled
Onto her feet
And buried them
In sand
The Sun's last rays
Drowned that day
Waves now
Scold the land
None heard her say
In a funny way
I'm part of this plan
The ebb and flow
Life's cycles go
Happiness be damned
Yesterdays have slipped away
Tomorrows never planned
As for today
I'll wash away
My sins, myself, this strand
Remember me
Just as She
As fleeting momets can

A long ago memory of a girl sitting by herself
on a sandbar far off the beach enjoying her lonliness.
I was intriged how long she was there.
Even as the tides came in and began to bury her small island.
Illusionary.
