Shattered Mirrors

Pretty little lies
The world whispers in your ears
Pretty little lies
You whisper them back
Fake little smiles
You smile in their faces
Fake little smiles
They smile behind your back

Perpetual pleasurers
Sing your name
Join their hands
And light a flame
Heat a rod and brand your back
Label your worth and shame

The pendulum halts
When stars reflect in those eyes no more
When your soul sinks down to the depths of the sea
Do you remember who you were
Before the world told you who you should be?
