Shattered Edge

I find myself defined by the remaining shattered edge……
The part of me that no-one wants to see.

Gone are the days of living the quiet life……
Keeping these thoughts …. buried deep inside of me

Now I’m often waking …. on the dark side of my dreams…..
Where the reality of my fears take rigid form

Struggling between the shadows and disappointments of this life ….
Where the salty seeds of discontent are born

I lay awake through dark of night …. a crushing weight held heavy on my chest.

No hope in my day of finding refuge …. Nor hope in night of finding rest
