Shared Christmas Dream

“Visions of sugar plums danced in their heads”….. Teddy’s eyes fluttered, he saw gingerbread men dancing. He was too tired to get up, so he allowed himself more sleep. His brother was warm against his back, and he felt comforted. Two cousins were here too, under grandma’s quilt. They were snug and cozy, each dreaming their own dream. Or so Maddy thought, when she opened one eye and saw a lollipop. I doubt the others are dreaming of sweets, thought Jimmy. Sharing a dream, yet, not one of the four knew it. They did not discuss it, for they were too busy. Poking each other awake, so they could open presents. The thought did not hit any of them until thirty years later.

Hmmm...I have yet to dream of sugarplums. I don't even know what they are, Caren.
