Poem written for “Double Nonet” poetry contest, William Kelli Kekaula sponsor, March 5, 2026
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cold Glass tears Icicles Winter's slow weep Hanging from the eaves April’s warm embrace Serrated shards shattering Sun shining through the wispy clouds Memories of colder days melting The fire’s breath has turned to shadows The dancing flames still in the heart Embers flicker what has been Their glow is softly dying The heat departing Ashes twirling Smoky pall Hangs gray Left
