Shapur

Subjugator of Rome's eagle
Hero of the sacred flame
Able and gentle horseman
Patron of the paraclete
Upholder of the holy dove
Renowned as the King of Kings

(Poem in honour of Shapur I, who ruled the Sasanian Empire from 240 – 270 AD, known for his religious tolerance and victory over the Roman Empire)

I enjoy your well crafted poems that introduce me to historical events. I found your Tanka Book of Psalms in Internet Archive and look forward to reading through it.
