Shaking the Past

I've tried to claim immunity from feelings deep inside to face life with impunity so from these feelings hide
But man's not meant to be alone Just to himself be tied Each lonely day that man is shown His emptiness inside
You told me that you cared for me I feared of course you lied For in me lies the memory Of other loves that died
So cautiously I'll play my hand And cautious time I'll bide For it's difficult to take a stand When so many times I've tried
But it must be time to shake the past Just put my fears aside I'll grasp these feelings while they last And join them for the ride
Come join me in my travels Through love's abyss we'll glide And while my heart unravels Let your love be my guide
