Shadows

There I stand with
A fake smile bitterly
Embracing my cold lips.

My soul is hidden
Behind this fake feelings
That make them happy.

Who is the real me?
Do I even know anymore?
Why is it that when I look in the mirror I see blood?

Have I fallen into a realm
Where there’s no light to
Aid me as I find my way?

Why do I keep pleading
For you to stop this torture?
You’ve caused my pain.

Not only the pain in my body,
But the pain inside.
My weary mind claims sanctuary.

Please free me.
