SHADOWS
the candle starts to flicker
a room grows silent; dim
you hear the voices calling
but you're afraid to let them in
I can see the race is over
as the crowd begins to cheer
there is darkness in the corners
that is never really near
what there is that really matters
Is somehow pushed aside
we forget the lonely faces
as we continue on our ride
silence in the movements
shadows on the door
I pass a million people
we pass a million more
are the rumors of the visits
ever really real
Do we stand among the tombstones
when we really should just kneel
can the world remain cold-hearted
will it never feel
the candle starts to flicker
can't remember if it's real
