Shadows

As shadows dance on my wall,
I lie awake in bed.
Who has come to call?
Was that a noise in the hall?
Or was it just in my head?
As shadows dance on my wall.
Did I lock the door? I can’t recall.
I’m filled with a sense of dread.
Who has come to call?
I hear no sounds at all.
Only silence instead.
As shadows dance on my wall.
Into the darkness I call,
“I’ll fill you full of lead!”
Who has come to call?

Fleeing footsteps did not fall,
But this feeling I cannot shed,
As shadows dance on my wall.
Who has come to call?
