Shadow of the Hummingbird

As I sit, staring at the Hotel wall
the shadow of a bird, floating, flying
'gainst the shadow of a Honeysuckle Bush
furiously flapping, shadow Wings
feasting 'pon life's blood - nectar
shadow World in which we dwell
Reflection or reality
Ofttimes I wish mere reflection it were
for then life would matter little
troubles - a mere shadow would then become
Shadow of delightful Hummingbird
'gainst shadow of Hotel wall
and Honeysuckle Bush
Illusion
