Setting You Free

I saw you today,
You know, out there in the crowd.
I had to look real hard,
Because my mind was in a cloud.

You seemed to be happy,
Or were you just thinking then,
Of all that could happen,
But never on when.

Were you thinking of us,
Or perhaps someone new?
I wonder what really,
What really is true?

I wanted to stop,
And confess that I do.
To tell you I’ll always,
I’ll always love you.

I did then realize,
You are more to me,
That’s why I paused,
And let you be free.

The crowd had gone quiet,
It seemed like a dream,
So I turned away,
Understanding what you mean.
