putting my
backpack
back on
my back
takes me
back to
days
past

i can't re
tire because
i've never been
tired of this kind
of living which
always gives
me not a
feeling

of a rush
but one of
slowing down
the pace and
knowing that
somehow i've
been here
before

life of
a once
i was
told i
was
an
old
soul

When I go back to a place I like that comfortable feeling like slipping into an old pair of shoes. It’s also disorienting because although the place is the same I am somehow different. Sometimes however it feels the opposite.

I rarely go back to a place. This poem was meant more towards my good ol backpack and how good it felt to being strapped on with it, because that could only mean one thing: road trip!!!!!!!
