Set a Spell

I woke up this morning to a drizzling rain
Headed to the kitchen, put the kettle on the range
Opened up the front door, let the dog out to pee
The whistle sounded and I poured a cup of tea
Took it to the front porch and sat down in my chair
Savoring the first sip, relishing the morning air
Smiling while enjoying the peace and tranquility
Soon it was off, to meet the days responsibilities
