Serjit's Song

Thirty four years a wonderful ride Now I face the truth which I can’t hide Since you ain’t here let me make this clear Living ain’t living without you Sitting here and listening for your voice I got no vote I got no choice Oh yes our children the grand ones too Damn this world they just ain’t you Like a hammer between my eyes I survive by telling me some lies After all she’s just at the store Any minute she’ll walk through that door Face the truth it just ain’t so Baby if it had been me the first to go I’d be there waiting to let you know Heaven ain’t heaven without you

This makes me sad and I'm sorry. But I'm glad you shared it was a nice read.

Like a hammer between my eyes I survive by telling me some lies Can you explain this line to me? I think the rest of the poem is intense and I like the flow...but I stopped and read this line 3 times...hmmm
