Serendipity As Such
Our misty eyes were destined for each other
when at last we met at crossroads by the brook.
Where some hidden hand of fate did gently guide
us up enchanted pathways known to but a few.
Passed the prickly rose bush shepherd on each side of us,
passed barren plains worn out by trampling hoofs,
toward the ever arching slope that slowly rises
above time and earthly longing.
Beyond that peak which openly invites
each climber to ascend heavens of their own design.
To blissful acme edging over skyline haunts
from which no one yet has ever dared return.
