Separation

I sit there inconsolable, she tells me that our life
Is devoid of happiness, does not want to be my wife
To me it's come from nowhere, I am just so bemused
The cause of my anxiety, is that I am confused

Cannot justify a normal thought, totally distressed
It is just inconceivable, I never would have guessed
Our financial situation, collectively is good
To live on my supply of that, don't know how I could

Alimony gives a boost, she is ambitious to the hilt
I will ask her to support me, from gratitude not guilt
It's great we have no children, as eventually we would
The horror of a breakup, would not do them any good

I still have a longing, for the love that we did share
A life without precision, full of happiness and care
Discover just where I went wrong, something that I did
In this auction that is life, please give me one more bid
