Separate Ways

I always wanted more
Than you were prepared to give;
It leads us now to separate ways
With altered lives to live.
My heart will always beat for you
With what little is left intact;
Love for you has come and gone
So now there's no turning back.
If you ever have a lonesome day
With nothing else to do;
Think back on our love filled days
When my love was all for you.

A collabortion with my dear friend
Dan Kearly who "gets in the mood"
now and then.

Dan, you really betrayed us on this one. You took a step down on the ladder of success and with that step slipped all the way down to the bottem. never do this publicly again.

Those last two lines are really cool. How did you divvy up this poem. Did you write every other line? I know one time I did a collaboration where I went back and forth with someone alternating the lines of the poem. This really has the feel of one person doing the poem!!

This one has the whisper of James Taylor's classic hit "You'v Got a Friend." I like them both (the poem and the song).

This would make a good song. It seems to me, there is a song with this title already. By Journey or somebody. I don't know. Wonderful collaboration guys. Enjoyed.
