Senseless

When I was one
I stared at the sun
And although I lost my seeing
It felt like fun

When I was three
I drank chlorine
And although I lost my tasting
It felt serene

When I was five
I took a dive
And although I lost my feeling
It felt alive

When I was seven
I played a violin
And although I lost my hearing
It felt like heaven

When I was nine
I took a line
And although I lost my smelling
It felt... devine

And now I'm ten with nothing else to give
What a life I have lived

I would like to welcome you to PoetrySoup John. If you would like to have more of your poetry read please limit your postings to 3-5 poems per day. In doing this more of your poetry is read and other poets can also have theirs read. Wishing you the best in your writing endeavors. If you have questions please feel free to ask anyone here. We are all willing to help and if we don't know the answer we will find someone who does. Love, Carol
