Senior Center Poetry Movement

Senior Center Poetry Movement

For Eve Gaal

How about having a Senior Center Poetry Movement
And weekly when there we all landed and went
Hoping we would never have to hesitate
Go to weekly poetry reading can hardly wait.

Maybe I might read a few of my very own
Knowing that by others I was not left alone
And everyone there is willing to bring theirs
Key to whole thing is found in word SHARES.

Our poems take turn going ahead and read
We will become relaxed and also feel freed
Of fears and frustrations that currently exist
Like time in service when you first did enlist.

So after your new poems you have prepared
About Senior Center were thoughtful and cared
Have complete freedom and no one is hexed
And to read some of your poems, you are next.

I think a poetry group for seniors would be a great idea. Just imagine the wealth of information and humor one could get from them.A true legacy of their own personal history while here on earth

St James Episcopal does have a 2d Helpings program and delivers food to Senior Center every Thursday. I am going to print out this and your comments and present this to them. Jim Horn
