Selfless Sacrifice

You go and give this heart its wings so it can fly
Just to clip those very wings and watch me plummet from the sky
Still, my heart it never falters or begins to ponder why
For you a zillion deaths and more I would gladly die
If it means you will be the ones to spread your wings and fly

Dear Melissa, your poem is beautifully expressive of the selfless love for your children and family. Splendid imagery, rich and evocative. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan
