Self Destruction

It was a world of two ideologies Both wanting to hold sway Neither of which were prepared To give anything away Now it’s a world of two Empires Neither of which are ready to stop But the strange thing is the same Type of people are still at the top The world is still full of poverty Disease, famine and despair But the Megalomaniacs in charge As always just don’t care. Nobody seems to find The situation rather odd The destruction each will cause In pursuit of their form of god And very few seem prepared To ask the question why That pursuit pf power requires Many millions may have to die Perhaps it’s nature’s way of stating In a form both graphic and succinct It’s very nearly the time for Mankind to go extinct.
