Selected Favorite Old Testament Bible Verses part one
1) Behold I will do a new thing; it shall spring forth; shall ye know it?
I will make a way in the wilderness and even in the desert. The
beast of the field shall honor me the dragons and the owls: because
I gave water in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink
to my people, my chosen. This people I have formed for myself; they
shall shew forth my praise. Isaiah 43:14-21
2) Our LORD is our shelter because He is our Rock in who we hide in the
time of Storm. He is a great Rock in a weary land.
"Each will be like a hiding place from the wind, a shelter from the storm,
like streams of water in a dry place, like the shade of a great Rock in a
weary land." Isaiah 32:2
3) But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; They shall
mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They
shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
4) Your word is a lamp to my feet And a lamp to my path. Psalm 119:105
5) Your word have I hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against you.
(Psalm 119:11)
6) Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, Because his
compassion's fail not. They are new every morning: Great is your
faithfulness. "The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I
will hope in him." Lamentations 3:22-24.
7) But Ruth said: "Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from you;
for where you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your
people shall be my people. And your God, my God. Where you die, I
will die, And there I will be buried. The LORD do so to me, and more
also, If anything but death parts you from me." Ruth 1:16-17
8) "And if it seem evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves
this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers
served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the
Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house we
will serve the LORD." Joshua 24:15
9) "For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for
the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish.
Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time
as this? Then Esther said to reply to Mordecai: Go gather all the Jews
who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for
three days, night or day. Esther 4:14 -16
