Seeking God With a Full Heart - Psalm 119: 9-16
A young man seeks a pure heart
but how can he achieve such a height?
God's word brings the solution he needs
by applying this word to make his heart right
Pray to never wander from God's ways
bringing your whole heart after the true God
meditate on the divine word storing it deep
so not to sin by standing on God's sword
O Lord I want to confess you so blessed
help me to learn all of the word divine
use my lips to send forth your scriptures
make me faithful as a holy sign
God's testimonies are a divine delight
far greater than the riches of all mankind
making me fix my eyes upon it
for they help put satan so far behind
My heart excites to hear thy word
for delighted, I am to upon it feast
promise I do never to forget it
on my knees blessing my great high priest
(This is my " Psalm 119 project" which I began to write a couple of years ago, so this is the second poem of twenty-two poems I've written over that time to cover all of Psalm 119, it'll probably take me a few weeks to put them all on my PS list.)
