Seeds of Life

A seed lies dormant in its place Content to rest before the race And in its time, it will rise high Peek thru the ground, toward the sky Foundation laid with roots and limb Both trees and flowers, leaf and stem It blooms, to come in colors bright Shine forth each day, then rest by night. The seed’s the same for all mankind Twill bloom and die, but do not mind It is the joy while we are here That makes each moment, Oh so dear! We are like flowers in this land Allowed to bloom by Gods own hand And when your final days are spent When eyes are dull, and bodies bent Know that you will once again bloom In Gods own brilliant garden room Where souls will rest, and peace abound And seeds of life again be found!

Oh, Betty - I am on pause, give me a sec. Wow. I rarely fav poems because I'd have to tend the list, but this I am faving. I should like it read at my own funeral for it is beautiful and a (again) perfectly written rhyme, a flow of shine that touched me deeply and, yes, gave me pause. Bless you and your pen that seemingly always move me beyond myself. Truly Wow me. Blessings ... CayCay

Dear sweet CayCay, you honor me with your response! I have been absent of late but today I was moved for some reason. Guess it is the Christmas season when I think of the true meaning of life. Hope to find my muse again and can get caught up with your poetry. Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year dear friend. God Bless you, Betty
