Seeds
Seeds that fall on hallowed ground
Are seeds so sacred life’s profound?
Bodies lie beneath the earth
Resting souls in need for dearth?
Do dreaming sleeping souls that die
Spread through clay and turn and sigh?
I hear the whispers of the dead
They toss and moan inside my head
Bodies feed the floral ground
And dreaming seeds on their abound
They carry with them soul’s intent
Secrets of the lives they’ve spent?
What can we feel as we walk by?
Can we hear the sleepers cry?
Dead they walk inside our heads
And they can hear our living sigh?
