Security
The "Love of my life"
turned out to do me wrong,
But I found out I've
had security all along.
My best friend swore
she'd never desert me.
She never did, and all the while
she held the key.
"What key?", you ask.
The key to happiness and all that's real.
Someone to hold your hand or stroke your hair
when you think you just can't deal.
Someone that, except in death,
will never leave you hanging by a thread.
Someone who gives you a shoulder to cry on or
when you're lonely, sleeps in your bed.
Security is someone who is there to
pick up the pieces and clean up your mess,
Someone who never says "I told you so.",
not even joking, because she is the best!
