Second Opinion

A second opinion may clarify things
Or possibly cause some confusion,
For doctors who do not agree will, no doubt,
Arrive at a different conclusion.

A patient must therefore decide who to trust
And to follow that recommendation,
Though when two so-called “experts” have differing views,
It makes sense to feel some hesitation.

It’s better, I guess, to have choices to make
And some down time before a decision,
For it helps to feel good with the doctor you choose
Way before you’re prepped for an incision.

Jan Allison January 16, 2025 at 1:55 PM I cant agree with you more Ilene, always good to get a second opinion if you have a shred of doubt about a course of treatment:-) A locum told my husband he didnt have cancer - almost patted him on the head and sent him away (we still have his condescending you do not have cancer letter', 6 months later stage 2 cancer diagnosed! hugs jan xx
