Second Chance
What l would give for a second chance
One last word
One last glance
But all my chances have expired
And now I'm left
Alone and tired
My life suddenly becomes
A black hole
In which my heart is numb
Slowly and sadly
My fingers sweep
The keyboard that keeps me typing
I fear the days
I have ahead
As I walk the road of the dead
Afraid of where my life will end
And the list of goals
I have yet to win
Dead dead
Enough said
Shallow words cross my head
Keep on walking
The road ahead
Until I get to my destination
Tears fall
But I ignore
Like faint knocks upon the door
My footprints
Are covered with dust
No sign of life for I am gone
What I would give for a second chance
One last word
One last glance
