Secet Diary

Secret Diary. . She keeps a record of her deepest thoughts And secrets only she knows In her private diary She hides in a draw Under lock ad key . Like a good friend who’s always there To run to and tell everything When she needs too With her heart and soul to bare , Every day she adds to a page With her pen Over time The pages have yellowed with age As she blossoms to adulthood . Both laughter and tears Adventures spill onto the page Of joy and sadness Her secret friend over the years Have kept her sane And clear of madness . A lonely dreamer drifting through life Without a plan or compass All she ever wanted Was to be a mother and someone's wife . Her sister always got the attention And the love and care Just a lonely shadow in the background She looks around And there was never anyone there . Her diary was her escape Into another world unknown Her small world From a girl The only place her heart had a home . Her diary her life And one day her legacy Her footprint left to someone To read about her life and pain When death has finally set her free. . Peter Dome©2020.

I know many people like this Peter, who have journals and do not express their feelings to everyone else.. some have traumatic stories that they are too afraid to reveal, some just prefer silence... Your poem reminded me of a special friend of mine, who said she will leave her journals for me, once she is no more.. Loved your poem..

Thank you. Your so right. my friend. I think most diaries are secret,As you say, not everyone can or wants to express to others. They can also be therapy. But when discovered and read as Anne Franks's diary, they give a valuable account and insight into someone's life and period in history. Your fried must have thought about you dearly, and trusted you. Take care,

Hello Peter Dome, as teenagers we girls kept a diary. i did until my late 20's then i stopped. yes i did read back wat i have written. It was more sorrow that happiness. Enjoy your evening my friend. x
