Seasons of Despair

The years are flying faster than the speed of light,
The economy is still lagging behind,
while inflation makes a tumultuous climb,
Cost of living has everyone in despair,
Families are losing their houses everywhere,
Sweet melodies are being sung above the chaos
and lean times,
Politicians continue to rehearse nursery rhymes,
Giving hope to folks as if they were infants,
who really can't decipher what they want,
Despair looms all around in the faces of the young,
unable to decipher where they belong,
While adults cave in around them,
their world becomes complicated,
losing their zen,
Seasons of despair offer very little hope
for a bright future,
when all around there are peple trying to
pick themselves off the ground.
