Searching For Jesus

I went out to find You
I started at a school
I thought I would see You
Holding the Golden Rule

I walked down the hallways
Checked every single door
listened for sounds of praise
But you weren't there any more

I went to the Court house
Surely they want You there
To help a battered spouse
But no one seems to care

You were not welcome
No more justice any more
The old ways are forgotten
They've pushed You out the door

I went looking at the mall
Because it is the season
You weren't there blessing us
It was Santa for some reason

Maybe You were waiting
Patiently for me at home
My spirit started singing
Surely there You would roam

Upon my arrival
I expected to find You there
I picked up my Bible
To prove how much I care

At once I start to choke
I couldn't stop my cough
The dust it was like smoke
I tried to wipe off

I'm part of the problem
I should take time to pray
If I want to taste Your freedom
I shouldn't throw Your Love away

Great! I love the message, you kept me captivated wanting to know, to follow you on your journey. Dust off that bible and find a message ;)

Sometimes I wonder if I will run out of things to write about but it seems to get easier and easier. I like the contests they help sharpen my tools and help me to learn more about others as well as myself.

richard I came way back here to tell you about myself. I am a very young 57. I say that because all the time people act surprised to learn my age and tell me I look like late 30's or early 40's. I used poetic license in my poem on roses. My husband will actually not reach the 40th until three more years!

Whats the use of a poetic licence if you don't use it? My wife is a very young Fifty Four so I can appreciate what you are saying. Three years will come quick enough.

Richard, you have made an awesome statement. If we take the time to look at the way we live for God, and try to see if we are giving God all of our time or some of our time, we can pull up and give him all the attention and praise that he so richly deserve, because he deserve all of our praise, even though we are not worthy. Thanks for sharing a beautiful write. I love it.

It's all about a relationship with God, not about ceremony and religion. Easy yet tough for most of us to grasp. Us humans tend to like complicating things and giving ourselves hoops to jump through.

Ohh, He should be with us 24-7 on our mind, Richard as He is our guide on everything. Great poem. I love it. Love ya, Toquyen
